"Truth
and reality in art do not arise until you no longer understand
what you are doing and are capable of, but, nevertheless,
sense a power that grows in proportion to your resistance."

Isobel
Hodges
completed a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts (Brisbane, Australia)
in 1999, and left to travel and work her way through Europe and
Asia the following year. Two years living in Japan provided a consistent
source of visual inspiration to the point of overload, and taking
part in Tokyo's bi-annual Design Festa introduced Isobel to a range
of other young Japanese and foreign artists. A six month stint in
South Korea in 2005, provided a studio space and time to paint.
Hodges currently resides in Melbourne, Australia.
